About
About Jim
Jim Ferrell has spent his life in the Computer Repair, and Customer Service industry. He got interested in computers while attending, and playing football for the University of Southern Mississippi. Walking through the training room one day, he noticed that they were tracking injuries on a spreadsheet on a computer, and thought that was the coolest thing he had ever seen, and immediately decided that this was what he wanted to do. After a short stint with Pro Football, Jim went back to Athens State University to finish his Computer Information Systems degree and went to work for a small gaming company called Sierra Online. This is where he learned to help people fix issues with their games, and computer systems, mostly running DOS and Windows 3.1. In August of 1995, Jim was working as a team leader for Microsoft’s Windows 95 release. It was these two jobs where he learned the value of hard work, quality of customer service, and taking responsibility for his actions.
He’s spent several years in the industry, working for companies like VeriSign Inc., NASA, DirecTV, US Army Corps of Engineers, 3M, Saargummi, and ASPECT Software. In February of 2010, after having been laid off from yet another job, Jim decided to start his own company, North Alabama Technical Services. He started it with just a few Newspaper ads and a pull tab flyer at a local beauty shop, and it’s taken off from there.
He joined Angie's List and was their Super Service Award winner for 9 straight years before they were bought out by another company.
All of this experience translates to years of professional knowledge and a well-rounded view of nearly every aspect of the Computer Repair industry. With that and many year's worth of insight from hands-on experience at his disposal, he is well equipped to make sure you get the best hardware, equipment, services, advice, and value for your money!
